PNP wiring to plc can be confusing. We will show the wiring of a PNP sensor into a PLC. The proximity sensor is Sick. Here is a link to the specifications. https://www.sick.com/us/en/im-standard/im12-04bps-zwb/p/p235499 The PLC is an Omron CP1H. Here is a link for additional information on the PLC. https://accautomation.ca/omron-cp1h-system-hardware/ More information can be obtained on our website. This includes all of the links mentioned in this video. https://accautomation.ca/heres-a-quick-way-to-wire-npn-and-pnp-devices/ 00:00 Wiring PNP Sensor 00:24 PNP sensor specification 01:10 PNP positive switch wiring 02:13 PNP wiring diagram 02:53 Operation of PNP sensor to Omron PLC Wiring a three-wire DC sensor is a matter of determining what kind of output you have. The two types are NPN and PNP. NPN is referred to as sinking the load or negative switching. PNP is referred to as sourcing the load or positive switching. In the video, we wire up a PNP proximity sensor. The load for the proximity sensor is the input of the PLC. We switch the load to the positive side, so that means that the common on the PLC sits at 0VDC. PNP sensor has three wires: Brown - +24VDC Black - Switching Wire Blue - 0VDC In our case, the PLC load appears between the input point (Black) and common (Blue). The positive voltage (Brown) is connected to +24VDC. Wiring PNP Sensor to PLC https://youtu.be/nP33k5e_Y-k ACC Automation https://accautomation.ca/
