Modbus Addresses in the LS Electric XGB PLC

53 views May 30, 2024

Modbus is used to communicate with and control devices in industrial automation systems, like the LS Electric XGB PLC. Modbus TCP operates over a TCP/IP network (Ethernet), Modbus RTU (Serial) uses binary representation for data transmission, and Modbus ASCII uses serial communication with ASCII characters for data transmission. Each variant has its characteristics and applications. Modbus addresses determine the location of the information on the network. In the Modbus client-server (master-slave) architecture, the client device initiates and controls the communication on the network, while the server devices respond to the client's requests. The client device is the machine simulator Easy Transfer Line machine, and the LS Electric XGB PLC is the server device. This architecture allows for a hierarchical and organized communication system, making it suitable for industrial automation and control applications.
