Automation Tools - Wire Ferrules

Automation Tools - Wire Ferrules The wire ferrules are used for stranded copper. Stranded copper gives electrical wire flexibility, so bending and moving the wire is easy. The ferrule is a thin tin-coated copper cylinder placed over the stripped end of a wire. The crimper will compress the tube into a square or hex shape depending on the wire connection used. A square will work well with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) terminals. Using a stranded wire directly into the terminal of the PLC is not recommended. This can cause the wire threads to bend and break. Purchasing a kit will help you practice using wire ferrules for your connections. https://amzn.to/38qxpRI Note: Using a soldering iron and tinning the stripped ends of the wire will also keep the stranded wire together for the connection. However, this takes more time and is not as neat or convenient as a ferrule. #shorts ACC Automation https://accautomation.ca/
