Use a PLC Counter for a Sequencer

73 views May 16, 2024

A counter can be used as a sequencer in PLC programming. This is the simplest method that any manufacturer's PLC can implement. The sequencer is programmed to perform specific operations or tasks, such as turning on and off motors, opening and closing valves, and monitoring sensors. It can also coordinate the timing and sequencing of multiple machines and equipment in a factory or production line. Instead of indirect addressing, the current accumulated counter value is compared to the conditions to move to the next step. The last sequencer step is used to reset the counter and start over again.
